This year the Air Base will be home to the military village, static displays, live music, re-enactments, local food stalls, kids activities, refreshment tent, simulators and loads more. You will be guaranteeing your seat in the best viewing position to watch the display. Entry to the Air Base is just £5 for adults, £2.50 for children between 5-15yrs and free for 4years and under. Families in Cumbria and the north of England have a great day in store at this year’s new-look Windermere Air Festival 2011.
The two day event will be bigger than better than ever before, still offering all the familiar family favourites – including eight breath-taking air displays each day, a military village and flying simulator – but also, for the first time, new kids have-a-go activities plus face painting, circus skills, music and great local food stalls.

The 2 star Cedar Manor Hotel in Windermere has beaten some of the UK’s most famous and expensive hotels to be 22nd in an annual poll on Trip Advisor of the best 25 hotels in the UK.
As a public vote, the poll reveals what guests really think about the hotels they stay in and the success of hotels such as Cedar Manor shows that for holiday makers, characterful features and genuine personal service and more important than Michelin starred restaurants and swimming pools.
Also, in the Lake District, The Waterhead Hotel in Ambleside made it into the listings at no.25.
